• Craig Zediker is an American cycling entrepreneur and industry pioneer best known as a co-founder, along with Hap Seliga, of Competitive Cyclist, one of the earliest and most influential high-end online cycling retailers in the United States.

Zediker began his journey in the late 1990s in Little Rock, where he and partner Brendan Quirk launched a small brick-and-mortar bike shop driven by their shared passion for racing and premium cycling equipment.   What started as a local shop quickly evolved when the pair recognized the untapped potential of e-commerce—at a time when online retail was still in its infancy.

Through experimentation, grit, and a deep understanding of cyclists’ needs, Zediker helped transform that early venture into CompetitiveCyclist.com, building a platform known for expert-driven service, curated high-end products, and a “gearhead” culture rooted in real riding experience.   The company grew rapidly, eventually becoming one of the largest premium cycling e-commerce businesses in the country.

In 2011, Competitive Cyclist was acquired by Backcountry.com, marking a pivotal moment in Zediker’s career and cementing his role in shaping modern cycling retail.   Following the acquisition, he and much of the team integrated into Backcountry’s larger operation, helping scale the brand within a global outdoor commerce ecosystem.

Beyond business, Zediker is a lifelong cyclist with deep roots in both road and mountain biking. His background as a rider informed the customer-first philosophy that defined Competitive Cyclist—built by cyclists, for cyclists.

Today, Zediker continues to influence the cycling community as co-owner of SCOTT Adventure Lab in Bentonville, where he focuses on creating an experiential retail environment that blends premium bikes, service, and community. His work reflects a consistent vision: making high-performance cycling more accessible, more personal, and more connected to the rider experience.
